Categories

Categories group your products into families, such as network equipment or power and energy. They keep the product catalog organized and make it easier to filter products and stock.

Use this screen when you set up the system, when you add a new product family, or when you want to see how many products belong to each category.

What’s on this screen

• All, Active and Inactive tabs, each with a count, to filter the list by status.
• A search box to find a category by name or code.
• A table with the columns Category, Code, Products (number of products), Status and Created.
• Actions for each row: view, edit (pencil icon) and delete (trash icon).
• The Add category button at the top right.

How to open the categories list

1. From the side menu, open Master data › Categories.

How to add a category

1. Click Add category at the top right.
2. Fill in the category details and save.

How to view, edit or delete a category

1. Click a row, or the view icon, to see the products under that category.
2. Click the pencil icon in the Actions column to edit the category.
3. Click the trash icon to delete it.

Caution

A category that has products cannot be deleted. Mark it Inactive instead, or move its products to another category first.
